You've been holding it together for a long time

I'm Angela Joyce. I work with capable, thoughtful adults who are close to exhaustion - and starting to wonder whether their mind has always worked differently.

Who I work with

You appear composed. Internally you are running on empty.

If you have spent years being the capable one - the one who manages, delivers, holds everything together - you will know the particular kind of tiredness that brings. The strategies that used to work are no longer reliable. And there is a quiet, persistent question: why does this feel so hard when it clearly doesn't for everyone else?

I work with adults who recognise that description. People who are intelligent and self-aware, but who are struggling in ways that conventional advice has never quite addressed. Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent - ADHD, autism, dyslexia, with associated executive function difficulties - whether or not they have a formal diagnosis. Some come to me already knowing this about themselves. Others arrive mid-question.

You don't need a diagnosis to work with me. You just need to recognise yourself in what you're reading.

About me

I'm Angela Joyce - executive function, ADHD and Autism coach

I'm Angela Joyce, an executive function, ADHD and autism coach based in Edinburgh. Capisco Coaching is my practice. I work with adults across the UK, entirely online.

I have over 20 years' experience across education, adult learning, and coaching. I hold a Level 2 Coaching Qualification from Connections in Mind, a Master's degree in Adult Education with Distinction, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE Secondary Teaching), a Diploma in Counselling Psychology, and a Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing.

I work within a coaching and adult education framework. I am not a practising therapist or clinician, and I will always be clear with you about the boundaries of that.

This work is personal for me

I know what it is to move through education and adult life with an undiagnosed learning difference

I know what it is like to absorb the message that you are somehow not quite getting it right, without ever understanding why. I know how much energy that costs. And I know what it means to finally have a framework that makes sense of your own experience.

That understanding shapes everything about how I work: with care for where you are, clarity about what is possible, and deep respect for the effort it has taken you to get here.

What working with me looks like

Coaching, Screening and Peer Support

I offer one-to-one executive function coaching, ADHD and autism coaching, ADHD screening, autism screening, dyslexia screening, and peer support sessions for those who are late-diagnosed or currently questioning ADHD and/or autism. All services are delivered online. No formal diagnosis is required.

My approach is structured and practical. I take time to understand your life as it actually is - your work, your responsibilities, your relationships, and the specific points where things keep breaking down. Then we build strategies that genuinely fit you, practise them in real situations, and refine them until they hold.

This is not generic productivity coaching. It is not a list of tips. And it is not therapy, though it is a space where you can think clearly without judgement.

What it is: structured, practical support for building ways of living and working that make sense for how your mind works.

Clients often find that working together brings:

  • Fewer moments of overwhelm, and quicker recovery when they do happen
  • More ability to start and finish tasks without the usual friction
  • Steadier routines that don't depend on constant willpower or self-criticism
  • Better understanding of their own patterns - and more self-compassion as a result
  • A clearer sense of what is genuinely difficult, and what can actually change

What makes this different

Not all brains run on motivation and consistency

A lot of advice for people who struggle with focus, organisation, or energy assumes a brain that runs on motivation and consistency. If that advice has never quite worked for you, that is not a personal failing. It means the advice was not built for how you think.

Capisco Coaching is built on the understanding that neurodivergent minds need support that works with them, not against them. That means realistic strategies, not ideal ones. External structures, not willpower. Honest conversation, not reassurance.

I bring over 20 years of professional experience in education and adult learning, alongside my own lived experience of neurodivergence. I do not pathologise difference. I do not offer quick fixes. I work at your pace, in your context, toward changes that last.

Ready to find out if this is right for you?

I offer a free initial 30 minute discovery call

You not need to have everything figured out before you get in touch. Most people I work with arrive with a feeling - a sense that something is not working, and a cautious hope that it does not have to stay that way.

A free initial conversation lasts around 30 minutes. There is no pressure, no obligation, and nothing to prepare. It is simply a chance to talk, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
